Sash Window Repair in Sherborne, Dorset

Rot confined to the exterior face of the bottom rail meant we could retain the original internal moulding on this Sherborne sash.

The less-good news was that rot had extended up into the sash stiles and into the lower ends of the glazing bars. Splice repairs to sections of the stiles, new tenons on the glazing bars and short lengths of glazing fillets (the thin strips of timber separating the panes) breathed new life into this 1830 sash, seen here ready for priming and re-glazing.
